New 3Mote - The Blaxeman!

I regret that this is a tease (well, a tease to anyone who wants to buy one) but they won't actually be available for purchase until this Friday afternoon. However, never let anyone tell you that I'm very good at controlling my excitement. That said, let's see the pictures.

Building this one has been exceptionally rewarding and a real test of attention to detail. Unlike The Technicologist, The Blaxeman has a much more refined mouth and tooth-line, a much cleaner color job, and fewer air bubble deformations. Hopefully, each new 3Mote design will yield better production processes.

It probably has a lot more to do with my personal tastes, but I had much more fun photographing this one. I think the rush and anxiety over trying to finally get a product in the marketplace made me neglect good photography, but now that it's all out in the open, and now that I'm less driven to sell and more driven to create, it's much easier to take an hour and just take as many pictures as I can. Besides, I think The Blaxeman simply lends himself to a worm's-eye-view.

I'm still torn over the ax. A little dash of blood might give it a bit more character, but that may not be for everyone. Perhaps on special request. Also of note, this 3Mote features eyes that are NOT glued in, so there's a choking hazard should they pop out. The layer of clearcoat should keep them in place, but if The Blaxeman should find his way to your desk, just be aware. Only 14 hours until they're available!

Welcome to Blogger, 3Plane!

In an effort to keep as many people in the know as possible, I've set up an account so that every salient facet of 3Plane's growth and development, and, more importantly, news on upcoming models, can be viewed outside of Facebook. While I like Facebook's fan page machinery, I don't think it's quite the right forum aside from a quick image or so.

Given that, I'm happy to announce that we'll be seeing a brand new 3Mote model up at Etsy (see links at right) in just two more days. Anyone who's seen 3Plane's Facebook knows it's decidedly wicked, and I'm eager to get pictures of the finished unit up on the screen.

In other news, 3Plane's website (which will soon house this blog in it) is also up. In the coming days, I'm going to compile an index of images and create a few photo galleries of what's been done, what's coming soon, and what to look out for come Christmas time.
